Changes are afoot for Luca Ferri who, fresh from Trentino, which has given him important advice on a technical level, will continue his training on Delta Rally’s Skoda Fabia RS Rally2 at the Ronde Valli Imperiesi.
A format consisting of a single special test, repeated over four stages, which allows the driver from Arcugnano to fully concentrate on developing his feeling for a car, the new arrival of the Czech company with which he had just a few years ago debuted weeks ago.
“In our program we had decided to run in Schio,” says Ferri, “but we realized that given the situation I find myself in, it is much better to be able to participate in a patrol where I have my I want to understand this new Fabia and can rely on a unique test that has to be repeated several times. The service parks, which usually last longer, allow us to work harder and make various changes to the setup, always tested on the same timed section. I believe it is the best solution to grow faster.”
A return to the province of Genoa that brings back memories of a distant past for Ferri, when he was the protagonist in the production of the 2007 Asphalt Rally Trophy.
“Sixteen years have passed since I last drove in Liguria,” emphasizes Ferri, “and at that time I took part in the Lanterna Rally, one of the classics of Italian rallying, fighting for the Asphalt Rally Trophy. The areas we face will be very different, but we are sure that we will achieve great satisfaction with this Fabia RS Rally2.”
Only one day of competition, Sunday November 19th, with the special stage “Guardiabella” (10.90 km), which will host the four stages of the twelfth edition.
Joining Ferri will be Alessio Angeli on a trip that could prove crucial to the Vicenza native’s main goal of returning to Sperlonga as number one.
“The mileage of the special proposed by Valli Imperiesi is good” – adds Ferri – “and that will allow us to work on developing a car with which I would like to return to victory at Sperlonga.” It is my home race and I have already won three editions. Everything I do is aimed at being back at the top of the podium at a particularly warm event, not only for me but for my entire family. We are ready for a new challenge.”
