Marco Cecchinato, reached the third round of the prestigious tournament Masters 1000 in Rome, overcome the stubborn Roberto Bautista Agut in a match that showcased his skill and determination.
Cecchinato, who offered a performance that can undoubtedly be described as “capital”, was defeated Roberto Bautista Agut with a convincing result of 6-2, 6-2. In the game, which lasted 1 hour and 17 minutes, the Blues demonstrated truly remarkable mastery on the pitch and control over the game.
The winning number with the forehand was as high as 24, while the points won with the first and second hands were 77% and 60%, respectively, very positive figures for a check that, it must be said, was helped a little by the playing conditions. The field was really strong today and in this climate Cecchinato was able to get married and showed that on clay he is certainly someone who can beat anyone once he has regained full confidence and a positive attitude in the crucial moments! In the last game, the Blue had to save himself from a dangerous break point three times, but he always managed to break it by dominating the game.
The first set was a testament to Cecchinato’s strategy and precision. He grabbed breaks in games three and seven and took an early lead. He won the fraction with an ace 6 to 2, establishing a dominant tone that he would maintain throughout the game.
Cecchinato also showed his strength in the second set and took a 4-0 lead thanks to breaks in the first and third games. Despite pressure from Bautista Agut, who had a break chance in the fourth game, Cecchinato put on an excellent defense, nullifying three break points.
Later, when the score was 5 to 2, the Blue saved three more break chances from his opponent. After the first cue ball was available, Cecchinato finished the game with the final 6-2 and the 23rd winner of the game (from right), underscoring his superior ability to deal with pressure.
Now Cecchinato is preparing for the third round in which he will challenge o hempmana qualified, or Fritz, the number 9 of sowing. It doesn’t matter who his next opponent is: If Marco can maintain this level of play, another competitive game can be expected.
