Social networks. Meta, the company that manages the two social networks, has announced that from November 2023, European users will have the option to pay a monthly subscription to use the two platforms without advertising.

The cost of the subscription is 9.99 euros per month on the web and 12.99 euros per month on iOS and Android.
Meta’s decision was made in response to new European data protection regulations that restrict companies’ collection and use of user data.
With the paid subscription, Facebook and Instagram users can avoid seeing personalized advertising based on users’ personal data.
Meta said it will continue to offer free versions of Facebook and Instagram, but those versions will be supported by advertising.
