The Rally del Taro is proving to be one of the most important dates in the Collecchio Corse sporting calendar and is ready to start with a significant contingent, divided equally between the International Rally Cup stage and the national stage.
On Saturday 27th and Sunday 28th May, the Felino-based team will be led by Marcello Razzini paired with Gianmaria Marcomini in a By Bianchi Rally Team Skoda Fabia Rally2 Evo, who after a positive debut in the run-up to the IRC podiums on the way is the ‘Elba.
The home team’s first forward will start from fourth provisional place.
Martina Musiari will also be with the driver from Parma at the big event, together with Antonio Rusce in a Skoda Fabia Rally2 Evo of the Erreffe Rally Team.
In the competition for the Rally4 / R2 Trophy, dedicated to former R2Bs, we will find a fierce Fabio Oppici in the unprecedented pairing with Alessandro Forni on an Autotecnica2 Peugeot 208 R2.
The Medesano rider will open his hunt for the first useful points to start his comeback.
A very similar situation that Milko Pini has to deal with, according to Angelo Mirollo in Rally Sport Evolution’s Renault Clio Rally5, keen to improve the record after Elba.
The driver from Varano de’ Melegari is currently eleventh in the Rally5 Trophy.
Finally, a more than welcome return to the ranks of the Cat Union for Edoardo De Antoni, who, along with Federica Mauri, will start his journey on IRC from here.
The driver from Camposampiero will be in the game on a Vsport Renault Clio Rally5.
Taking a step down and moving on to the national event that will take place after the previous one, all ambitions will be pinned on absolute laurels on Fausto Castagnoli.
Always flanked by Enrico Bracchi, the Bardi-based driver will compete in a Pool Racing Skoda Fabia Rally2 Evo and will be keen to play a leading role on his home roads.
Under the sign of Rally France’s Taro driven by Paolo Folli, who will join Adriano Giannini in trying to get the best out of LM Motorsport’s Group A Renault Clio Williams.
No change in face between the two-thousanders of production, which will see Gabriele Frazzani, flanked by the trusty Diego Altomonte, do battle in his usual Renault Clio RS Group N.
Massimo Minardi and his Citroen C2 in the Group A version will ensure that the circle is closed.
Always keen to nurture young talent, the Parma rider will be joined by a new addition to the team, Cristina Mori, with whom he will look to grow in the race.
“The Rally del Taro is our home race” – says Gianni Assirati (President of Collecchio Corse) – “and given its prestige we can only consider it the most important on the calendar of each season.” We will have eight teams, plus Martina , who will be riding alongside Rusce, so we can say we have a lot of opportunities in different categories to get some big satisfactions. Driving in front of a friendly crowd is never easy because it involves a lot of pressure. It’s almost mandatory to perform well, more so than on other occasions. For our part, as a team we will try to give maximum support to all our flag bearers and hope to meet again on Sunday evening to talk about successes with a smile.”
