Everything is now ready at the Misano World Circuit to welcome the start of the new edition of the BMW M2 CS Racing Cup Italy, a hunting ground that has proved particularly fruitful for Pinetti Motorsport, with no fewer than five flag bearers at the start.
Eyes were undoubtedly on Marco Zanasi, who fought hard for the title last season at the wheel of the BMW M2 CS Racing for the Parma team.
The Maranello driver, who has returned from a brilliant and unfortunate presence in the Ferrari Challenge, will look to shed his form as reigning runner-up to aim for the big goal.
He will be joined straight from Castelnovo Monti by another highly anticipated rider on the eve of Victor Briselli, last year’s second rookie in the Hankook Trophy and author of a season finale in which he made a decidedly interesting progress.
Last but not least Giovanni Stefanin, authentic revelation of the last test session conducted.
The driver from Milan, protagonist of some unfortunate episodes too many in 2022, will compete in a third car of the German company managed by the Colorno-based team.
A squad that will also be enlarged thanks to a new addition with the purchase of Nicola Tagliapietra, a driver from Sarteano who has integrated well into a team that is already well established.
The Sienese, who has already competed in the Cremona tests, could cause an upset earlier in the year after impressively showing his potential behind the wheel of CS Racing’s M2.
Last but not least, Emma Segattini, as young as mature, ready to get into the fifth and final car fielded by the Emilian team and determined to validate her worth.
The rider from Verona, who was able to leave many speechless in 2022, will be urged to continue on this growth path that has allowed her to shine on covered wheels in the year of her debut and to finish fourth with a touch of the podium. among the beginners.
“After the new experiences of TCR Italy and Ferrari Challenge, we return to a familiar context” – says Andrea Belicchi (Coach Pinetti Motorsport) – “and we will have five drivers who can do well. We expect Zanasi to be an undeniable contender for the title and even if Misano isn’t one of his favorite circuits we’ve already seen that it can be good. Briselli was the author of a remarkable development over the last year. He always has a very intelligent and methodical approach to the weekend which allows him to grow quickly. Stefanin was the revelation of the last tests. Of all of us, he has perhaps the greatest room for improvement. He’s gained more calm and awareness, so we’re confident. Tagliapietra, a newcomer, has already integrated very well into the team and into the way of working. He has had less time than his teammates to prepare for the Misano race, but the results of testing at Cremona are encouraging. We have so many expectations of Segattini because she impressed us with her determination and cold blood. He hasn’t been able to do a lot of testing, but it’s within his power to give a paw over the weekend. She’s a good fighter.”
The date for the official start is therefore set for next May 6th and 7th in Misano.
