It certainly could have been a richer Casentino Rally for Collecchio Corse, but some episodes of different nature made the spoils a bit tenuous.
About forty seconds lost in the last two special stages on Saturday form the basis for seventh place overall in the RC2N group and in the R5 Rally2 class, which Marcello Razzini achieved.
The driver from Parma, together with Gianmaria Marcomini in the Skoda Fabia Rally2 Evo of the By Bianchi Rally Team, has always kept the pace of the best and signed the “Barbiano” performance level.
“It’s a shame that there were two spins at the end,” says Razzini, “because our classification situation could have been better. We had good pace on Saturday and were always at the front thanks to a perfect car and a very well-working team. We should have dropped to fourth place overall, but we still have Schio’s card in play.”
A third act of the International Rally Cup where Martina Musiari, to the right of Antonio Rusce in a Skoda Fabia Rally2 Evo of the Erreffe Rally Team, remains in the premier class and finishes the two days eleventh overall in the RC2N group in class R5 – Rally2.
A Tuscan journey that also featured Edoardo De Antoni, the notes of Federica Mauri on a Renault Clio Rally5 by Vsport, fourth in the Rally5 Trophy, in the RC5N group and in the Rally5 class, but with a good dose of bitterness for one questionable, stingy was time imposed.
“We started pulling immediately,” says De Antoni, “but on the first Caiano, three kilometers from the end of the stage, we had an electrical problem because a cable came loose, which cost us more than half a minute.” On the next call for help, the team solved the problem and we went on the attack again. When Caiano repeated it, we stopped training because of an accident in front of us. Unlike our opponents, who all but one completed the test regularly, we were given a set time which we don’t think is fair, but despite pointing out the direction of the race, nothing has changed. We made a significant difference on the Talla, missing the podium by a few seconds but finishing a nice twenty-ninth place overall.”
Very interesting debut among the queens of the past for Paolo Folli paired with Adriano Giannini on the Peugeot 309 GTI Group A, on the occasion of the historic Casentino Rally.
The fourth forward of the Felino stable achieved a good sixth place overall, fifth place in the fourth group and the only success in the J2 2000 class.
“We are very happy with our Casentino,” says Folli, “and I have to say that the car behaved superbly, despite the really remarkable heat that caused problems for several cars.” A special thanks to the LM Motorsport team , because it has proved to be a group of real professionals and has a perfect organization to say the least.
