Julian Zenger confirmed as free Volleyball Padova for the 2023-24 season. Born on January 1, 1997, the German will play his third season in the SuperLega in the jerseys of Padova (2 years) and Trento (1 year).
Before arriving in Italy, Zenger played five seasons in the German top flight and also won four titles between 2019 and 2021 (1 Scudetto, 1 DFB Cup and 2 Supercups). With his shirt National He was actively called up to the U19, U20 and U21 national teams before making his debut with the Majors in 2017 and winning the silver medal at the European Championships that same year.
“Continuing here means continuing to grow. I think I’ve made some progress over the two SuperLega seasons and the fact that I’m still playing at Padua is an opportunity for me and the team to raise the bar.”
“At the end of last season I had a little problem with my arm, now it’s back but we’re still monitoring it to avoid any risk. Now I feel good and I want to have a good trip with my national team at both the European Championship and the pre-Olympic tournament. Then I can’t wait to meet my new teammates and start the new season with them really excited and motivated!”.
“I’ve been carrying the emotions of the end of the season with me since last year: the decisive win in Monza with Fox’s block was not only important for the goal, but also touching for all of us. We talked about this evening for a long time, we all remember it well! Goals? Salvation first, and then when the conditions are set to do something more, we will not back down.”
