The preparation of the squad for Serie B1 2023/24 at home continues Volley Modena and continues with new additions from the higher category. The spiker will try to push the yellow-blue club’s ambitions even further Julia Bartesaghi, born in 1998 from Offanengo. Equipped with centimeters and important attacking weight as well as good block qualities, the fourth new face at Volley Modena will be an important weapon for coach Di Toma in a long and treacherous championship like the third national series.
For Bartesaghi, grew up in Club Italia Before entering the B1 class, Igor Gorgonzola Novara, despite his still young age, talks about a respectable curriculum that has been articulated in important areas of the world Series A2 Of these last seasons, it was Brescia in particular, where he won the Italian Cup in this category in the 2021/22 championship. Previously, however, Giulia also had experience in Serie A1 with the same club and with Legnano, which proved her qualities and potential.
“I chose Volley Modena because the coach gave me a very good introduction to the club’s project. Despite the different categories, it is a stimulating test for me.” – explained the new spiker from Modena –. There will certainly be no change in the commitment made as the approach to Serie B1 remains the same as in A2 and I hope I can help bring some experience by sharing it with my teammates.”
Bartesaghi, as already mentioned, is the fourth newcomer, as many new faces from the top category, which is a testament to the club’s ambitions but also to the athletes, as she herself points out: “I think there is a great desire to play and bring in our experiences from everyone. In my opinion, these are things that we can achieve in a project of this nature where, as mentioned before, the approach will not change and the strength of the group and the coalition will continue to be very important. In the beginning we have to work on that first of all, so that we can see what happens with whomever every Saturday.”
According to Bartesaghi, grafts from the higher category, but also athletes who have already won in B1, such as Lancellotti and Rocca, can be an excellent mixture: “I know Lancellotti by sight and have played against him more than once. Certainly there are caregivers who have already taken this category to the end, so they too will be the guide to how best to master each week in the gym.”
Finally, the dream of bringing a historical reality from Modena back to the highest levels of Italian volleyball will influence the choice of the Lombard spiker: “The context also absolutely convinced me. The desire to bring back volleyball at a high level to a city that knows the sport very well is a motivation that I think can attract anyone. The desire to be part of this reality is obviously great.”
