Zalgiris Kaunas returned to the field on Sunday and defeated the Wolves with a score of 79-55 on Day 13 of the LKL. After a turbulent week for the club, coach Kazys Maksvytis commented on his confirmation as coach and the situation of player Keenan Evans.
On his confirmation as coach, Maksvytis said: “I don’t want to comment on Friday’s events. Officially I worked for Žalgiris and continue to work. On the one hand, I’m very happy because I received a lot of support from the team – from the staff and the players. I also received support from people around me and from our largest fan group. That’s the most important thing to me, I don’t want to comment on anything else. I keep working.
Regarding Keenan Evans’ situation, Maksvytis said: “I spoke to Paulius Jankūnas a little bit. As far as I know, [Evans] He has no release clause and it would be crazy to let him go now.”
