MEF Tennis Events and Terranova Tennis Club announce the birth of the Olbia Challenger. Sardinia adds another international event to its calendar: from October 15th to 22nd the prestigious Olbia club will host an ATP Challenger 125 event. The Olbia Challenger takes place in a strategic week chosen at the request of the ATP in the Greenset and will play a crucial role in the race for a place at the Australian Open.
The words of Marcello Marchesini – “At the end of September we were just about to announce an ATP Challenger 100, until the ATP contacted us and asked us to organize the Olbia tournament in October and make it a 125 category event. We accepted the request with pleasure and we are happy to continue this” important synergy”. Marcello Marchesini, President of MEF Tennis Events, tells the background that led to the choice of date and the announcement of an ATP Challenger 125 in Olbia.
