President Zaia: I congratulate on the important synergies that abound on the territory and in mutual agreement with its stakeholders.
Spotlights on the Scaliger Tennis Club in Verona: For nine days it will be the scene of great international tennis. In fact, Viale Colombo Club will host the CHALLENGER ATP Tour 100 for the second consecutive year. The President of the Veneto Region, Luca Zaia, who cannot be present due to simultaneous institutional commitments, announced in a statement:
“However, please accept my congratulations on the important synergies that abound in the field and in mutual agreement with its stakeholders. The teamwork carried out not only contributes to putting Verona even more in the spotlight, which fully benefits the tourist promotion of the city of Verona, but also contributes to enriching the regional sports calendar. The ATP Challenger Tour is the second-highest level of professional men’s tennis and allows aspiring athletes to advance in their category. I am therefore confident that this prestigious event will succeed in integrating Veneto perfectly into the world tennis scene and, last but not least, in offering the spectators an exciting show.
Through your kind mediation, I express my “Good luck” to each of the participants and conclude by sending my cordial greetings to all those present, whom I hope will come in large numbers.”
THE MATCH of the evening: FABIO FOGNINI against VIKTOR GALOVIC.
The only Italian to win a Masters 1000 in Monte Carlo in 2019 and break into the top 10 of the ATP rankings at the age of 32. Fognini delighted the large audience with high-quality plays, often accompanied by some joking comments between himself, Galovic and the referee.
As a reminder, the game was won by Fabio Fognini 7-5, 6-4.
