“This is the range of what can happen: a good game against the strongest team and then a bad game, especially against another very strong team,” explained Simone Giofrè, sports director of Treviso Basket, after the 71:99 defeat against Germani Brescia.
Giofrè stressed that, as one of the youngest in the championship, the team needs time to establish itself and that defeats like this can serve as valuable lessons. “We probably have to go through that kind of maturation. After a defeat it is easier to restart,” he added to Gazzettino.
The DS also emphasized that the team’s mental approach must be consistent regardless of the opponent. “Six of the opponents in the first seven games are in a different category. We always have to be able to prepare for the game emotionally and stimulatingly,” concluded Giofrè.
