The Press release of the Red Star
In order to avoid publishing further speculations and numerous untruths (of which there have been many in recent days), but also to protect the integrity of its coach Mr. Ioannis Sfairopoulos, Red Star informs its fans:
Player Shabazz Napier requested December 18, 2023. to leave the club and informed Red Star head coach Ioannis Sfairopoulos. The latter transparently informed the public about the matter on two brief occasions.
As it is the club’s policy not to detain anyone against their will, Red Star reached an amicable termination of contract with Shabazz Napier, in which a clause was clearly inserted that the player can only play for Italian club Olimpia Milan.
The joint resolution was signed on Wednesday, December 20, 2023, in Belgrade with the consent of both parties.
