Third win in a row for Nova Volleyfourth complete home win for the Nova Volley Loreto who uses the golden moment to rise to 14th place in the rankings behind the best. Captain Torregiani is the top scorer in double figures with 18 points and three black and green. Loreto’s serving performance was outstanding with 7 aces and 8 blocks.
The home sextet comes with Campana as director, captain Torregiani as opponent, Alessandrini and Vecchietti as top players, Carotti and Mangiaterra in the middle and Dignani as libero. For the guests, coach Rizzi starts with Cerquetti in the control room, Sfondrini opposite, the top players Oliva and Cardia, Giugni and Minniti in the middle and Marchini as libero.
We start with Loreto right in front (4:1) and two blocks in a row for Carotti. Due to the good block defense in both halves of the field, the actions are long. Sfrondini equalizes with the lob and overtakes with the ace (7-8). Oliva achieves the first double advantage (9-11). Torregiani’s ace brings back the home advantage (13-12). The libero Dignani also scored with a bad defense by the guests (15-13). Captain Torregiani warmed his arm (17-14) and led Ravenna to a timeout. Mangiaterra signs the 2nd block. Alessandrini takes advantage of the maximum advantage with the diagonal (20-16) of +4. However, Loreto makes a few mistakes and coach Iurisci calls for the first half (20-19). Oliva equalizes. Within sight of the finish line everything is still level at 23. Loreto cancels a set point and after a miss they finish with 27-25 on Cardia’s diagonal out. The guests performed better in attack and reception, but complained about a few too many mistakes. We start again with unchanged sextets. Carotti blocks the pipe to make it 6-3 Loreto. Ravenna doesn’t give up and stays in the lead (9-7). Baroni comes for Sfondrini (11-9). Ravenna equalizes with a block from Minniti. Ace from Campana for 17-15. Torregiani certifies the home win (18-15) and the timeout for Ravenna. Campana’s ace and Vecchietti’s block increase the gap (20-15). Raggi comes for Minniti (21-17). Luca Massaccesi comes on for Loreto (22-17). The guests try to come back and coach Iurisci takes a time out (22-19). Torregiani closes at 25-20. An excellent 59% in attack for Loreto, with Alessandrini being decisive in the final. In the 3rd set of Ravenna, Fiorini enters the opposite side and Baroni remains on the field as a spiker. Alessandrini’s ace immediately puts Loreto in the lead (6:3). Cardia comes for Oliva. Torregiani with the diagonal gives +4 (11-7). Free substitution for the guests, who immediately suffer an ace from Vecchietti. It’s time out for coach Rizzi (13-7). Vecchietti scores with two more aces to make it 6:0 (15:7). Loreto is within sight of the finish line (20-12). The credits roll over the game. Mangiaterra’s first half ends with a combative and incisive Nova Volley.
