The Dallas Mavericks lost to the Lakers after wiping out an impressive 27-point lead.
Those are the words of coach Jason Kidd after the defeat.
“I’m not the savior. I don’t play,” Kidd said when asked why he only took one timeout between the second and third quarters when the lead dwindled. “I’m watching, like you.”
“As a team we have to mature. We have to grow, especially if we want to win the title,” added the coach, who didn’t like too much criticism of the referees from his players, especially Luka Doncic.
“You have to focus on the game. Don’t let the boos distract you. We have to keep playing. We saw many games. You have a big advantage, you know where the whistle goes.”
“In the beginning we played at a high level both offensively and defensively. Then we were distracted by a couple of whistles. We need to improve on that aspect,” concluded Kidd ad ESPN.
