Kleb Ferrara withdraws from the Serie A2 championship. There is no official announcement, but coach Spiro Leka met with the press in the morning.
Journalists questioned the reasons behind the absence of Marco Miozzi, who became president of the club’s board at the end of September after 12 years as Francesco D’Auria’s manager.
This is the coach’s answer: “I know that a press conference was called and then canceled. Speaking of basketball, it’s not up to me to judge what the others have to do. When they ask me for opinions, I provide them. There was another relationship with D’Auria and we worked together until nightfall. The team must be lived. It’s not for me to say who should come here today, we’re all grown ups.”
“He has to say what convinced him to take over the club (Marco Miozzi, editor’s note). It all seemed to close in September so it was a sigh of relief for us. Everyone had everything (in terms of wages, editor’s note), a new path has begun, so I can’t stand up for Marco.”
From the press conference we learn the timing of this sensational decision. Players would receive all mid-season salaries, some even in advance.
Then, around January 15th and 20th, the first communication of difficulties from the club. In a little over a month, the end of everything.
At the end of the press conference, journalists applauded Spiro Leka. A moment of great emotion for the coach.
