Julius Zeppieri enters the main draw of Roland Garros.
The Blues defeated the Portuguese in the last qualifying round Frederico Ferreira Silva, born in 1995 and No. 225 ATP with the result of 64:61 in 1 hour and 23 minutes of play.
Giulio will have to wait for his opponent’s name tomorrow as qualifying ends tomorrow.
In the first set, Zeppieri showed his determination and managed to earn an important break in the fifth game. That break certainly destabilized Ferreira Silva and gave Zeppieri a significant lead.
With Zeppieri 3-2, Ferreira Silva tried to level the set and put the Italian under pressure with a dangerous break ball. However, Zeppieri showed great strength of character and successfully thwarted the break point.
Despite the pressure, Zeppieri managed to stay focused and win the set 6-4.
In the second set, Giulio hit a deadly run of five straight games and three breaks to end the fight 6-1 in his favor, with the Portuguese committing another needless error on match point.
