Umana Reyer is delighted to announce the multi-year signing of Davide Casarin, who will be part of the Orogranata squad again in the 2023/24 season.
Born on May 22, 2003 in Mestre, 197 cm tall point guard/guard, Davide grew up in the Reyer mini basketball and youth field.
In the last two seasons he wore the colors of Tezenis Verona, with which he never missed a game and averaged 17 minutes on the pitch.
Davide made his debut and scored his first goal in Serie A against Brescia on Sunday 12 May 2019 at the age of fifteen.
In 2019-2021 he was part of the squad of the first Orogranata team and collected 84 appearances between the championship and the Eurocup.
In February 2020 he was the protagonist of the victory of the Next Gen Cup under 18s in Pesaro, of which he was voted MVP and a few hours later he climbed the podium of the seniors and won the first Italian Cup in Reyer’s history.
In the first half of the 2021/22 season, he wore the colors of Treviso, with whom he played in La Liga and the Champions League before moving to Verona, an experience that included in his promotion to Barcelona in June 2022 (the crucial year). Serie A culminated in Game 4, Davide was the top scorer along with Candussi.
During his development in the youth teams, Davide Casarin played twice in the Euroleague Adidas Next Generation Tournament, where he joined the best quintet, and in the Next Gen Cup.
In the summer of 2019 he also played at the European Under-16 Championships, winning bronze, and at the European Under-18 Championships. In February 2023, he made his senior debut in a World Cup qualifier against Spain while he is currently engaged with Italy under-20s in preparation for the European Championship.
