These are the trainer’s statements Zappaterra at the end of the game: “It was a very difficult game. We arrived a bit exhausted and lacking energy, despite having had an excellent week in the gym training at a high pace and level. I had the impression that the approach to the game wasn’t optimal either, but I have to congratulate my girls because we usually lose significantly on these days and instead had the strength to get up and get back into the game. Even without playing particularly good volleyball, we got the win, which was very important. The sensations regarding the debut in the championship are good, we have won the last four games, but we are aware that we still have to improve our playing level if we want to be competitive in this championship. We are proving that we have a large squad that can be decisive in dark moments. Today it was absolutely not easy to get out of this situation and they did it well with a lot of effort. We take home a positive lesson.”
Also intervened Irene Bovolo: “Today we started difficult, then we gradually gained confidence and the last three sets were proof that we are able to play well as a united team and support each other, especially in difficult moments. Staying here is really nice because you can feel this great family atmosphere. We have a lot in common between us, both as teammates and with the staff. There is mutual help in every situation, we can talk to each other calmly and that is a very nice thing.”
For CBL Costa Volpino Volleyball, message the coach Cominetti: “We played well in the first part of the test match, then a few situations got us into difficulties and as a result we lost control, especially in defense. Then, when the opponent gains confidence, it becomes difficult to beat them, and the VTB FCREDIL Bologna girls played well, making aggressiveness in defense their strength, and with much more experience, they certainly handled difficult situations better. I wanted to continue the game with a tiebreaker to see if my girls could reverse the trend, but that didn’t happen.”
