We recall that Ash retired from number 1 after winning the 2022 Australian Open, breaking a very long fast for a tennis player at home at the Down Under Slam. There was repeated talk of a possible return given the withdrawal that took place at such a young age. Barty now turns to cricket for fun, another passion of hers and a sport very popular in Australia.
