Pink (VI), March 7, 2023– It’s one of those weekends to frame, capable of generating an unprecedented emotional charge when the Raceday Rally Terra challenge is almost over.
Between Saturday and Sunday was the Rallye City of Foligno, the penultimate act of one of the most popular series along the Italian boot and capable of drawing the attention of heavy feet across the border.
On the dirt roads in the province of Perugia, Edoardo Bresolin in MS Munaretto’s Skoda Fabia Rally2 Evo with Alessio Angeli at his side presented himself in dazzling form, managing to conquer a second place overall, in the RC2N group and in the R5 class – Rally2, which reopens the game for the most prestigious laurel in the last duel.
Thanks to Battistolli’s transparency, the rally team’s standard-bearer for the championship scored full points and managed to snatch away valuable points from current leader Avbelj.
With one race to go, the first striker from Rosà’s stable is just five pitches from the top in the double aggregate win, while Group B has just under a dozen points to pick for a heartbreaking final act.
“Impeccable car and navigation” – says Bresolin – “But if we speak of a certainty about MS Munaretto, the biggest unknown came from the first race with Alessio Angeli. He was very good and I felt very comfortable with him. An exciting race, very nice and a good performance came out of it. We started out calmly and gradually increased as the kilometers went by. For a few seconds we didn’t win tests, but we always competed with the best. We are happy and confident for the last day of racing. We will go full throttle in one race and do everything we can to bring the title to the rally team.”
The Vicenza partnership can look to the future with optimism, thanks in part to Christian Camazzola, engaged in the right-hand seat of Michele Milani’s Mitsubishi Lancer Evo VII Group N.
Despite the fact that it was the first appearance on these roads, always in the absolute top thirty, the duo of the Japanese evergreen managed to secure the podium, between a significant improvement in personal partial performances and the complicity of some other people’s misfortunes.
A third place in the N4 class and among the entries in the series, which translates into a real mortgage of a production that now sees it at the top by a nice twenty-one point margin over second.
Harder to miss just one round, overtaking in combined Group C, where the gap rises to 23.1, against expert Peljhan.
“We had good pace from the start” – says Camazzola – “But in the morning the surface was frozen, very hard and we had to work hard to adapt to the conditions after only completing two reconnaissance runs. From the second lap we were able to improve and stayed fourth until the last lap. We deducted twelve seconds on the first lap and ten seconds on the second and also finished third due to the anger of the others. We are very happy with our Raceday trip and want to try to take as much home with us as possible.”
