Panathinaikos coach Dejan Radonjic speaks to the media after defeating Kolossos in the quarter-finals of the Greek Cup.
“We started the game very well. Our defense was equal to the situation. At the end of the third period we had a good lead. In the last quarter we conceded 31 points in defense with many mistakes that allowed Kolossos to bounce back. In a cup game, victory counts. We have less than 24 hours to prepare for the Olympiakos game. We have to be focused.”
He was then asked to comment on the latest rumors about the negotiations between Gianmarco Pozzecco and the Greek club. Despite the awkwardness of the situation, the 53-year-old coach agreed to reply: “I honestly don’t know anything about it. I have no comments to make. I’m just concentrating on the next game.”
The Panathinaikos spokesman slammed the journalist who popped the question, calling it ‘completely inappropriate and out of place’ after a success for the team and ahead of such an important game as the derby against Olympiacos.
The two big names in Greek basketball go head-to-head tonight at 7:15 p.m.
