Pallacanestro Reggiana announces that it has signed a two-year agreement with athlete Lorenzo Uglietti, a 192cm point guard.
Born in Turin in 1994, after taking his first steps in Piossasco, he joined Pallacanestro Biella’s U19 team, with whom he made his first-team debut. He then moves to Latina, where he will remain for four years before returning to Biella in 2017, still in the cadet series. He has been a Treviso Basket player since 2018, with whom he managed promotion to Serie A and stayed in the top division throughout the 2019-2020 season. From 2020 to 2021 he returns to A2 in Naples, immediately managing promotion and staying in the Neapolitan capital until the season that just ended, where he holds the role of team captain.
In the 2022/2023 season, Uglietti finished averaging 21 minutes per game, recording 5 points with 3.5 rebounds and 2.1 assists, and going into doubles five times (with a maximum of 15 points and 10 rebounds against Trento).
Coach Dimitris Priftis introduced the newcomer as follows: “I am very happy to welcome Lorenzo to our team. He is a powerful playmaker who will bring great energy and physicality as a dowry. I immediately liked his style of play and his attitude on the pitch: he tries to include everyone, he is selfless and defends well. I’m sure he will be an important player in our team.”
These are the words of Lorenzo Uglietti: “I thank the club for believing in me, I can’t wait to return that trust.” Besides Pallacanestro Reggiana being the club that has shown the greatest interest in me Pallacanestro Reggiana’s ambitions go hand in hand with mine, namely to fight to achieve important goals and to grow over the years. I am motivated by the opportunity to work with people who have had important experience abroad and from whom I can learn new perspectives and working methods. I had the opportunity to speak to both the trainer and the GM. I was pleasantly impressed with their professionalism and willingness to perform well. I can’t wait to get started and get to know everyone: the club, my teammates, the people of Reggio and Reggio Emilia. See you soon”.
