The Belgian Spiker Mathijs Desmet will play in the black and white jersey of Padova also in the 2023-23 season. He is the third player in the spiker division, alongside Davide Gardini and Julio Cardenas. For the 2000 vintage, this is the second season in the SuperLega in Padua after 5 years in Belgium at Roeselare.
“I’m really looking forward to playing another season in Padua. My goal was to give continuity to the work started last year and I’m happy that the club has confirmed their trust and I feel very comfortable in this city. “I’m getting to know the new players, I’ve already spoken to Falaschi, so we’ll have enough time to get to know each other and do the right alchemy in the dressing room.”
“I think I improved a lot last season. When I arrived for the first few months, I had a little trouble getting used to the intensity of the game pace, which is quite different from that in Belgium. I also had fun doing some experiments during the PlayOff Challenge, let’s see what other surprises come up next year. The best moments? Well, the championship final was very demanding, but also exciting. We were over the moon when we were rescued! Now I’m enjoying a few days off, then I’ll go to the national team before concentrating 100 percent on Padua.
