Half-time is approaching and after three of the seven events scheduled on the calendar, it’s the right time to take stock for Massimiliano Moro, the young Bolza Corse lever who is literally dominating the ATCC RS.
Last weekend, between Saturday and Sunday, the third weekend dedicated to the Renault Clio Cup 4 was held at the Autodromo dell’Umbria and Casier’s driver again showed a consistent performance at the wheel of the Adria Racing Team car, at least he confirmed, despite his identity card its full potential.
Starting from third place on the grid in the first race, the newcomer from Treviso fought a first duel at the end of qualifying with team boss Silvano Bolzoni, who started in the sister car, but also with Fazioli, the current rival of category reference.
Making the most of his teamwork, the Adria-colored teammate gave way to Moro on the final laps, managing to climb to the second step of the podium.
The Polesine rider did well too, finishing the first part of the weekend in fourth place.
Sunday gave the go-ahead for Race 2 with Moro who, having started from fifth due to the reversal of the starting grid, has already moved up to fourth thanks to a rapid sprint at the start and then constant pace What due to the technical breakdowns of Fazioli and the new pass of Teammate Bolzoni, who took the checkered flag in third, again led to a second step on the podium that cemented the weekend.
“I wasn’t at my best at this track,” says Moro, “but I have to say that the result was undoubtedly positive, thanks to a car that proved to be competitive and a team that was always ready to support me. “ I can only thank them for the work they have done.”
“My presence in Magione was purely to be Moro’s squire,” recalls Bolzoni (Bolza Corse team boss) – “and we tried to work as a team, not only on the pit wall and in the pits, but also on the track Circuit.” We are happy to have invested in Massimiliano because we confirm once again that we had the right instinct to bring him to Bolza Corse.”
Two second places at Monza, two wins at Vallelunga and another extra second at Magione for a provisional standings in Italian Formula 40 ahead of Fazioli to make it 90, plus 20 ahead of the first of his closest pursuers if we count the gap while Bolzoni breaks into the top ten with just one active participation and is in ninth place.
“Massimiliano proves the consistency of a true champion”, says Paola Cazzadore (President of Bolza Corse), “because he has already shown more than once that he always manages when the conditions are not ideal to aim for victory good gather fruit.”
