The drawings in the book refer to the The box, a light installation created under the auspices of the Minister of Culture of the United Arab Emirates, which blends classical mythology with contemporary understanding and is the fruit of the same delusional, dreamlike, poetic imagination that Parsi describes in Melanie, an author capable of galloping the spirit that begins in a thousand, without limits. “I felt very nostalgic for our western world because I was a lot in the United Arab Emirates where I have my family,” explains the artist, “so I put our entire history in a box that Laocoön, the Venus of Samothrace, Michelangelo, Canova and Dante’s echoes in the unsettling figures attacking Opheliaa tribute toPre-Raphaelites.
