A weekend full of positive ideas rounded off by a Michele Mancin who, back on Gaetani Racing’s Ferrari 458 Evo, achieved the main goal of the trip, namely to collect useful points to advance to an Italian Speed Mountain Trophy, the becomes more and more interesting in the northern area.
The rider from Rivà, who competed for the Patavina Gaetani Racing colors in the reborn Cronoscalata Levico – Vetriolo – Panarotta team, faced a good level of difficulty, the sum of a track completely unknown to him and the change in weather .
Seven starters among the GTs with the Polesan which, after battling it out on the first climb of the test, picked up its pace significantly on the second lap to finish fifth fastest.
“It was constant suffering during testing,” says Mancin, “because the weather conditions were constantly changing. Friday was incredible, between shimmering sunbeams and then clouds, a few raindrops that then stopped and came back. On Saturday the track was wet, not very wet, but finding the right balance between setup and tires wasn’t easy. ”
On Sunday, Mancin opened the ball, confirming himself as the fifth force in the GT field in race one, not far from the podiums, only to work his way up to fourth in the replay.
The overall calculation finally gave him fourth place in the group and second in the GT Cup.
“Dry and cloudy for the first run on slicks,” adds Mancin, “while in the second race it started dripping so we had to put on wet tyres.” On Saturday I was a little too conservative, I wasn’t in top form which affected my performance little affected, because I could not memorize the most tricky parts of the route. Staying in front of Artuso was impossible for me, he just drives faster and that’s it. We brought home excellent points for the TIVM and we had to do that. We had some big names in the GT class, all very strong opponents, with more experience and more powerful cars. Fourth place among these lions made me really happy. I take this opportunity to sincerely thank all Gaetani Racing and their owner, Luca Gaetani, for the trust he has placed in me. Many thanks to all partners who support us on this very satisfying path.”
An event in Trentino that found Mancin’s positive opinion.
“Everything went smoothly and without any particular problems,” concludes Mancin, “and for that we must commend everyone in the organization. My congratulations therefore go to Scuderia Trentina, to the race director and to everyone who has worked for it.” come back in. I had heard so much about this event and was glad to have done it over the weekend. One hundred and seventy cars to manage ending so early in the afternoon is synonymous with efficient organization. They took care of every aspect, down to the smallest detail. Really an event you absolutely had to attend.”
